What Made Us Get The Van?

We were able to save up a lot of money and we were tired of spending our free time only in the San Diego area and not spend some much money on flights and hotels. Technically we weren’t allowed to “live” on a boat but, it was people that having been living on their boat for 30 years in this same Marina. The manager at the marina used to ask me every other week, “Hey, you living on your boat? The key fob systems says you come in every night.” And I would go without missing a beat “Oh no I just like to keep it clean”. The best advice we got from other people in the marina just leave for a day or two. So were in the market for a Sprinter Camper Van that’s was just “weekend warrior” ready. A few weeks later we purchased a 2005 Dodge Sprinter Camper.

We got the van off of Craigslist. The build wasn’t complete, but it was live-able. The van came with the flooring and wall done a fixed bed, overhead storage, two pull-out drawers, one chest drawer, and one Maxx Fan.  I took it for a test drive and everything seemed fine. We took the van to a mechanic for a presale vehicle inspection. Mechanic said the van is good to go. I asked the guy selling the van why he was selling it. He told me that originally him and his girlfriend at the time were going to live in the van, but his girlfriend inherited a one bedroom condo. He was trying to get rid of the van. We purchased the van for $14,500.
