Living on a Boat: Why we did it?

Originally it all started from when I was in the process of getting out of the navy in San Diego where I met my wife. A few months before I was discharged from the navy I decided that I wasn’t going to go back home. I wanted to stay in San Diego, Ca where I was stationed at and enjoy the beautiful views and weather with the intentions on moving up to Humbolt County ,5 hours North of San Francisco. At first, I wanted a tiny house but a tiny house in San Diego doesn’t work for a few reasons (Space, land ,permits, and permission…etc.). So I thought to myself “I lived on a ship before….i didn’t die, it was do-able…..how bout I buy a boat that already has a built home on the inside…..boat slips are way cheaper than rent”.
